Yoe.
My name is Jake Steele and I’m in 3rd year Music Tech. I am a composer/producer/musician and have been creating random dark beets since around the start of the millennium varying over all styles of good music from everything and beyond of electronic experimental ambient glitchkreig breakbeet industrial hip hop noise drone metal punk rock and more recently dark drum and bass …. Everything is starting to sound good so hopefully a release will be out THIS year (2010) . I’m here to learn everything I possibly can about music, and eventually wish to make film soundtracks for million dollar hollywood movies and create awesome mindbending scrap metal interactive sound art installations. As well as release about 15 albums , a dodgy horror movie , and plenty of other stuff.
I also play in a band called Injured Ninja, ( www.myspace.com / injuredninjah ) we have released an E.P. called Circuitboard and a split single on vinyl (with the French Rockets) called IDDQD with an awesome music clip to go with it. I used to play in a stoner rock metal band called Hamscraps [R.I.P.] ( myspace.com / hamscraps ). Dirty Symbiot is all about the dark dirty distorted beets ( www.myspace.com / dirtysymbiosis ).
I have composed music for various short films, one entilted ‘The Last Question’ by Alan McGill, funny as movie , and I am keen to do more ! I’m big on melody, and phat beets, more to the dark side, but plently of ‘lighter’ tunes too, soundscape stuff, anything really. Am studying at ECU doing film and video. W orking on an experimental film for the Advanced video production 1.
My film explore the back pack and what it has come to represent. I have shot most of the footage and wondering if you could be kind enough to compose a soundtrack for the film.

Hi Jake,
I am a 3rd Year Dance student at WAAPA this year and apart of my course is a unit called Choreography 3. For this unit i must create a contemporary dance work roughly between 8 - 12 minutes long. I have a concept and idea for the work but for it I would like original composition.

Hey Jake,
I’m directing a third year WAAPA film called “the Bucks Party” this year and need some music. I’ve hooked up with Ellie Cumming to compose the score but I will also need some original music (like the stuff you make) to “play” in the background throughout a lot of the film. See, as the title suggests, the film takes place at some dudes bucks party and music will be pumping through the house as they get up to all sorts of stuff.
At first I was thinking of going for rock music from local Perth bands but then I thought some music made specifically for it would be better. or maybe both?
Anyway, should be fun, if you’re interested shoot us an email!

i’m at the WA Screen Academy and am working on a documentary that involves art mixed with science and was wondering if you would be interested in working on this? we’re looking at something like the blood theme from dexter but with a bit more beat to it.
