Andrew Clarke - Film and game music composer
My name is Andrew Clarke and I am a classical orchestral composer. I began my study at Waapa in 2009 and I am pursuing film and game music. I have written for 5 short films since mid 2009, most of which can be heard below. If you are interested in any type of collaboration, please email me at,
(All of these tracks have been heavily compressed to enable them to be posted here which has degraded the quality on some of them quite noticeably)

This is an excerpt of my score to a short action film called Project Bay.The film basically consists of the lead character starting on one side of the city and he has to get to the other to save his girl. Its fast paced action with fast driving, running and fighting through the streets of Perth. The director asked me to do my best Hans Zimmer impersonation with the score.

The following track is my score for a short film called ‘The Letter”. It was partly filmed in stop motion and all the sets were hand made like in the above picture which gave it a surreal feel. The score has a playful sound and a number of reoccurring themes which were used in a leitmotif style. I have edited out parts of the score in this track just so it’s not too long.

This is a piece for solo vocal, piano, orchestra and choir. In the instrumental parts I attempted to create the effect of riding an ocean swell and the vocals are just a virtual instrument singing latin(I think). There are lyrics that the melody was written for.

This was written for a composition assignment. 7 percussive instruments playing in 6 different time signatures
This was also written for a composition assignment. The task was to write a melody and use different techniques to alter it in a way so it becomes very different in the end from where it started

The following tracks are a mix of music i have written to accompany game trailers, a short film and music I have just written for myself. The film and trailers have just been used for my own practice. I was in no way involved with the original films.
This was written for a trailer for a War Hammer game.
This is a short, feel good piece.
I wrote this to accompany an animated short film about a lonely traveler exploring space.
This next track was written to accompany a trailer for the game Gears Of War.
This was written to accompany a trailer for the game Quake Wars.
I wrote this with an action game in mind.
I wrote this one to test out some new vocal software.
These next two were written with an open world game in mind.

Hi Andrew. My name is David Meadows; I am currently a Masters (MPC) student (Directing & Editing) at the WAAPA Screen Academy. I am looking for a composer to score my WAAPA film, “Runner”, which is a fairly ambitious (but achievable) action fantasy about a dystopian future society. I am planning to shoot it in an anime style, with graphic novel and game elements also coming into play visually.
This is a new direction for the WAAPA films and the staff are all really excited about the possibilities of exploring a “genre” film within the resources at WAAPA. There will be stunts and CG and haute-couture costuming and I plan to have the footage graded and textured to give it the slickest, most Hollywood-friendly look achievable.
Listening to your music on waapacomposers.com, I immediately feel as though you are the composer to build the sonic world of Interval City (where the action takes place) - your orchestral pieces are *exactly* the style that I am looking for! My film veers between chase scenes (replete with parkour and freerunning stunts) and dialogue driven character moments (which will benefit from gentle underscoring). I desperately want to avoid an “electronic” sound, and fly with an orchestral/chamber flavour, possibly with a hard rock component driving the chase scenes.
My email is argebus@gmail.com, and my mobile is 0417-789-845. I would love to catch up and chat with you about the project.
all the best,
David Meadows.
