Hello, I am a second year music composition student at WAAPA. I created my first piece when I was eight years old, and have continued to compose music of various styles and genres since then! From writing contemporary songs in collaboration with my sister Catherine, to composing soundscapes for contemporary dance and film- I am not afraid to explore the full spectrum of sound.

I believe that my strength in composition  lies in converting emotions and ideas into music; whenever I create a piece I don’t just feel the rawness of the emotion within it, but conceptualize the story behind it too. So I would like to seek out projects in film, games, dance, and theatre-work with people who also depict imagery and conceptualize stories. Feel free to contact me-I’d love to get involved!

UPDATE: Recently nominated for Best Composer at the WA Screen Awards out of over 100 contestants!

The Rape of Blanche Dubois (from the play A Streetcar Named Desire)

NEW!-The Rape of Blanche Dubois

Written in 5 hours with a day’s notice and no prior knowledge of the play, I was called upon to write music for the critical scene of my sister’s drama performance of the play A Streetcar Named Desire.

Aegri Somnia (A Sick Man’s Dreams)

aegri-somnia.mp3

Based loosely upon my experiences of week-long fevers last year, this atonal piece is the first one I have ever written.

Childhood

Childhood

This song about being a kid is dedicated to all of the children who grew up without much of a childhood-orphans, child prostitutes, child soldiers and the abused. I give them mine, a happy childhood, through music.

Character Study

Character Study

A ’study’ of a male character who mixed drugs and alcohol within the course of a night partying (the drugs are represented by the distorted guitars in 7/8 time, the alcohol by 6/8 time.) He tries to hook up with someone(listen  carefully for the ring of a mobile phone), but ends up being sick instead!

Whoa! Really great, I didn’t expect such a diverse range of music. I think they’re all really awesome in their own way, although I really like the exotic sounding one, it really creates vivid mental images. I can’t wait to hear more! Very talented.

    Hey Liz,
Couldn’t see an email anywhere… I am a film student and am looking at the moment for a piece of music to accompany my experimental film. I am loving the sound of your “childhood” piece.
If you could get back to me it would be lovely!

    Regards, Stacey

    Hi Liz

Nice work. Good layout, good sound quality for the samples. Already quite a lot of interest in your work which is good to see. Nice concise and to-the-point bio. Would’ve been good to know the year of all of the works to be consistent.

    Regards

Hey Liz, just wondering if you got my email for music composition for the short film “The Man from Venus.” Really like your stuff so if you have the time to produce something short for Simon before the end of the week, that would be great. I sent the directors treatment to your email daydreamer1. Let me know if you’re keen or if you’re too busy to get involved.

    Thanks Liz,

    Sophie

    Hey Elizabeth,

I am a producer for a film in the WA screen academy (Different to Sophie’s one) and myself, my director Oyvind, and writer Magda would very much like to have a chat with you if you’re interested in composing for our film.

Sometime mid-next week would be great if you’re able. Flick me an email and I will send you synopsis/director’s treatment etc.

    Thanks so much,
