Musique Concrete Jeremy #1

With this piece I took 3 samples from a recording I made at the moon cafe. The first sound is a door closing. The second sound is my feet sliding on the bathroom floor. And the third sound is a foot stomp. I first set out by cutting up the door sample and creating an interesting 4/4 rhythm. After the first repetition of the established pattern I added an 8th note delay. I then faded in the foot sliding sample and subjected it to various phasing and reverberation plugins and at the same time began to alter the pitch in a decending minor2nd pattern. At the time time that I felt the descending pattern had reached its usefulness I turned it around so it would rise back to the original pitch and also added the third part - the foot stomp. I spliced the foot stomp into fragments of a dotted quaver length thus creating a 3 on 4 poly ryhthm with the original door shutting sample. I then gradually brought in some various types of distortion to the the foot stomp sample which eventuates in it overpowering the other samples which is where the piece ends.
